Wigmore Fine Art, London (United Kingdom)

Event Invitation

The work of Chema Alvargonzalez presented at the Wigmore Fine Art in London is composed of images that confront the imagination and abstract levels of thought with reality and narration.

With its light boxes, puzzle photographs and double exposures, the artist creates a dizzying experience through montage and collage of architectural and natural imagery. The constant change in the urban landscape of the reunified Berlin, where the artist lives and works, provides a powerful source of material. Its current and symbolic landscape of buildings means renovation and change.

Through the assembly and displacement of the image, Alvargonzalez seeks expressing the feeling of the wandering in the world, with no fixed limits or coordinates but releasing himself with the experience in a landscape where the images evoke his mental strokes in contrast to the reality around.
